Khaptad National Park is a protected area in the Far-western region of Nepal. It stretches over four districts of the region namely Bajhang, Bajura, Achham, and Doti. It covers an area of 225 sq km and ranges in elevation from 1400 m to 3300 m. The park was established in 1984 on the advice of Khaptad Baba, a holy priest of the region. Wildlife include 20 species of mammals including barking deer, wild boar, ghoral, Himalayan black bear, yellow-throated marten, rhesus monkey and langur monkey
