After a bit of rest and refreshment, we’ll hold a short trek briefing, go over your gear, and help you prepare for the adventure of a lifetime — the Everest Base Camp Trek.

The journey truly begins with a scenic 30-minute flight to Lukla, landing on one of the world’s most thrilling mountain airstrips. From Lukla, we begin our gentle walk through Sherpa villages, yak pastures, and pine forests. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, leading us to Phakding, a peaceful village where we spend our first night in the Khumbu region.

After breakfast, we continue along the riverbanks, crossing several suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. We pass through Monjo, the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park, where we complete permit formalities. After crossing the Bhote Koshi River near Jorsalle, the trail ascends steeply to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant hub of the Khumbu and a highlight of the trek.

To help your body adjust to the altitude, today is reserved for acclimatization. We take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel (3,880m), one of the best viewpoints in the region, with panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Thamserku. Back in Namche, enjoy bakeries, coffee shops, the Sherpa Culture Museum, or the colorful Saturday market if your timing aligns.

Today’s trail offers a scenic journey through rhododendron and pine forests, passing through small Sherpa settlements like Sansa and crossing the Dudh Koshi River again. After lunch at Phunki Tenga, we begin a steady climb to Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, where monks conduct evening prayers with Everest towering in the background.

Leaving Tengboche, we descend to Debuche, then cross the Imja Khola River on a suspension bridge. The trail then climbs through Pangboche, where we pass sacred mani walls and alpine scenery. As we reach Dingboche, the views of Island Peak, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam open wide. This peaceful village marks the gateway to Chhukung Valley and high Himalayan passes.

Another important acclimatization day, today gives you options. You can hike up to Chhukung (4,730m) for incredible views of Makalu, Island Peak, and surrounding glaciers, or take a steeper hike to Nagarjun Hill (5,100m) for even wider Himalayan panoramas. After a challenging half-day hike, return to Dingboche to relax, hydrate, and prepare for the ascent ahead.

The trail begins gently through alpine meadows before reaching Dughla, where we pause before climbing Thukla Pass — a solemn memorial site for fallen climbers. From here, we follow the Khumbu Glacier’s lateral moraine with stunning views of Pumori and Nuptse. After a steady walk, we arrive at the quiet outpost of Lobuche, nestled beneath dramatic peaks.

This is the most anticipated day of the trek! We start by hiking to Gorak Shep, where we’ll have a brief rest and lunch. Then, leaving our backpacks behind, we continue to the legendary Everest Base Camp, walking along glacial moraines with views of the Khumbu Icefall. After soaking in the moment and taking photos at base camp, we return to Gorak Shep for the night.

An early morning climb to Kala Patthar offers the best panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and surrounding peaks. It’s cold and steep, but incredibly rewarding. After photos and celebration at the summit, we return to Gorak Shep for breakfast and continue our descent to Pheriche, a small village popular with returning trekkers.

We retrace our steps down the Imja Valley, passing through Pangboche, Debuche, and Tengboche Monastery once again. The trail offers a last glimpse of the stunning peaks before we descend through lush forests to the familiar streets of Namche Bazaar.

Our final trekking day takes us back through Monjo, Jorsalle, and Phakding, crossing suspension bridges and enjoying the scenic trail that has become so familiar.
